GRADING
Grading will be absolute (90%=A, 80%=B, etc.) or on the curve depending on class performance. Each midterm exam will cover roughly one quarter of the material presented in the class. The final will be comprehensive. Your grade will be determined by your two midterm exams OR your final exam (whichever gives you the higher grade. Therefore you do not need to take the final exam if you are satisfied with you course grade based on your two midterm exams. You CAN NOT substitute your first or second midterm grade for the first or second "half" of the final exam. You can view the final exam as a "make up" exam if you miss one of the midterms. There will be NO MAKE UP of missed exams without a documented medical or legal excuse.
READING ASSIGNMENTS
You will be held responsible for all material presented in the lectures and in the required reading (including the handouts). The lecture notes and figures are available on this web site. Handouts will be given out in class or available in electronic form in Handouts and Supplemental readings section of this web site.
